The alterations and additions to the Maroubra PCYC focused on improving the general amenities and facilities surrounding the principle and secondary sports and recreation halls. Included in the upgrade were new staff facilities, community rooms, computer facilities, and wet areas as well as a larger, more inviting entry lobby. Ultimately cost cutting and lack of contract administration meant the final product beared little resemblance to the original scheme, however the internal planning upgrades still greatly improved the functioning of the facility.
